I have just read Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. This is a fantastic ghost story, spanning 70 or so years! I loved this book, the characters were like friends! I felt really sad to finish it today!

This is the first Jodi Picoult I have read, and from what I have been told about her writing she always likes to explore ethical issues. This book examines the sterilisation bill that was passed in 1930’s America, parts of which are still part of American Law today, but she cleverly links it with gene therapy that is happening today, how parents are using genetic techniques to have healthy children without inherited desease. Like all good writers she does not provide the answers, just supplies the senario and the questions. I really enjoyed this story, it is well written and a page turner from the start, although, (and now I am being really critcal) a little too tidy at the end!)
